i Who I am j

Hi. We probably don’t know each other, and I’m not sure how you got here, but welcome to my website anyway.

My name’s Melissa, and I’m a writer who records myself paraphrasing my writing and puts it on the internet. (In fancy internet terms, I’m a video-blogger.) Basically, I talk about things that I feel are important (sometimes politics, sometimes social issues and often simply my own opinion), and, fortunately, that’s given me a lot of amazing opportunities. Sometimes I travel to political events, and I’ve had the pleasure of appearing on CNN, FOX NEWS and CBS. I feel very blessed to have the amazing adventures that I do, and for having met so many wonderful people in the process.

I grew up in Orange County California, but I was born in Trenton, New Jersey. I once lived in Portland, Oregon where I danced in a professional company and toured the country by air and by bus; after that I got a job that took me to Chicago, Paris and eventually Faleolo, Samoa. (That photo at the top is of me and my Samoan-little-brother Halé.)

Presently I work in technology, write, and teach Sunday School at Mountainbrook Community Church in the pristine city of Shell Beach, California, where I reside with my husband and *very* soon, our daughter. I have a wonderful mother and a younger brother that I love beyond reason or comprehension. (He’s pretty much the raddest person you’ll ever meet, but I guess you’ll just have to take my word on that).

I’m crazy about food, languages, Shakespeare, Legend of Zelda, Wes Anderson films and my MacBook Pro. I design websites for funsies, and I’m infatuated with Twitter. I love God and believe in sharing my faith with others through showing the love of God in practical ways.

You’re a precious, intentional and unique creation of God, and contrary to what you might think, he wants to know you personally. You don’t have to agree with me, and I wouldn’t imagine imposing my beliefs on you, but also, I would feel equally wrong not sharing the truth that I know.

Questions? Email me!

Love,

Melissa
